Summary

You may have heard about Frontotemporal Dementia with Bruce Willis' diagnosis or it may be closer to home. Join Judy Bearer with the Frontotemporal Dementia Association and learn about this unique form of dementia. We'll review possible causes and symptoms, find local resources, and learn how we can best support those experiencing Frontotemporal Dementia.

Objectives:

  • Describe how FTD differs from other dementias
  • Define the FTD subtypes as well as common symptoms
  • List supports and services to assist families

About the Speaker: Judy Bearer
With extensive experience as a Licensed Social Worker, Judy Bearer currently works as an Integrated Care Assessor with Direction Home. In that role she completes level of care assessment for MyCare Ohio waiver members. But beyond her professional expertise FTD has touched Judy personally. She aided her father in caring for her mother who was diagnosed with FTD. After personally witnessing everything her mom went through, she became an Ambassador with the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration.
