Summary

Conflict is inevitable-- at work, at home, and in our personal and professional relationships. And while conflict is often not the problem, how we manage it is. In patient care settings, heightened emotions can create challenging encounters and miscommunication-- for patients, caregivers, and providers. As a result, learning successful conflict management skills is essential.

Objectives:

  • Assess and identify your conflict style
  • Learn about the different conflict causes, types, and styles, along with potential drawbacks and benefits
  • Identify the pros and cons of different conflict approaches
  • Learn skills to successfully navigate differences with others even when we don't agree
