Summary

Somehow this sums it all up. And yet - who among us can claim to not have some of those index cards in a box somewhere? Forgiveness is a subject that has been important to the health and well being of humans since recorded history. There are many perspectives that forgiveness can be explored from, and this workshop will seek to highlight the power of forgiveness and provide suggestions that can be implemented that will assist professionals and clients to experience the benefits of this journey. The wisdom and practical guidance that the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous has gleaned will offer a unique and practical beacon for continued exploration.

Objectives:

  • Define forgiveness - what it is and is not
  • Relate the benefits and therapeutic value of forgiveness in their professional and personal lives
  • Identify the harmful and life damaging effects of resentment and anger
  • Identify strategies and techniques for assisting self and others in practicing forgiveness, including the 12 Step approach to enable release from resentments

About the Speaker: Marcella Balin RN, BSN

Marcella Balin is well know and highly regarded as an educator and presenter. She is an independent nurse entrepreneur and lecturer with thirty-two years of experience. She began her nursing career in Brooklyn, N.Y. and spent a decade as an emergency room nurse while moving into the field of education. She parlayed years of widely varied teaching experience into a career of independent teaching and presenting. Since then, Marcella has concentrated on areas of development most empowering to herself and to those around her.

Her energetic schedule included developing and presenting a right variety of educational programs for professionals, teacher, corporate personnel, and private groups. 

She has a BSN from Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio, and years of ongoing professional education in human and organizational development.

REGISTRATION & CANCELLATION INFORMATION:

Class sizes are limited, so register early.  Classes with low registrations may be canceled.  If the class is canceled or moved, participants will be contacted via email at least 24 hours in advance.

Classes start and end on time.  To ensure a quality experience for all, please arrive (in-person) at least 15 minutes prior to the class start time.  

SOCIAL WORKERS: CEU credits will be adjusted 0.25 credit hours for every 15 minutes not in attendance; adjusted certificates will be emailed to participants within 3 business days after the training.  LICENSED NURSING HOME ADMINISTRATORS: full participation is expected, no partial credit will be awarded. Hard copies of certificates will be mailed upon request.

Refunds will be make ONLY for cancellations received three business days prior to the event. If received less than three days prior to the event, a credit can be issued for use at another program within the next 6 months. If notice of cancellation is not received before the date of the program, no refund will be issued. PLEASE NOTE: No show will be charged the full registration fee.

It is difficult to control room temperature to everyone's comfort level.  We suggest you dress in layers that can be adaptable to warm and cool temperatures.

For auditing purposes, arrival and departure times and signature are required on attendance sheets.
