Critical supplies coordinated by the Ohio Manufacturing Alliance
to Fight COVID-19

Green, OH – This week, the Ohio Manufacturing Alliance to Fight COVID-19 distributed 55 pallets of donated hand sanitizer and personal protective equipment (PPE) to Ohio’s 12 Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs). Direction Home Akron Canton Area Agency on Aging and Disabilities received several pallets of masks, gloves and hand sanitizer for distribution to local senior service providers.

“We are grateful to the Ohio Manufacturing Alliance to Fight COVID-19 for prioritizing senior services and the participating companies for these critical materials,” said Ursel J. McElroy, director of the Ohio Department of Aging, which provides federal and state funding to AAAs. “We know without a doubt that our AAA partners will get these supplies in the right hands to keep our older Ohioans healthy.”

“These supplies are needed and will be valued by our direct care providers, who perform vital services every day for older adults in our communities,” said Matt Reed, Senior Vice President of Communications and Administration. “We appreciate the effort and the generosity of the Ohioans and Ohio companies that made this donation possible.”

The Ohio Manufacturing Alliance to Fight COVID-19 is a coalition of Ohio business leaders convened by Governor Mike DeWine to address issues created by the COVID-19 public health emergency. Several businesses provided donations of hand sanitizer and bottling supplies, including Anheuser-Busch, Axium, Cleveland Whiskey, GOJO Industries, Manufacturing Advocacy & Growth Network (MAGNET), Ohio Department of Rehabilitation & Correction’s Penal Industries, and Proctor & Gamble. AEP Ohio, Anthem, Inc., Fiat Chrysler Automobiles US, and Meijer, Inc. donated dust masks. In addition to the movement of materials and supplies by the Ohio Department of Transportation, R & L Transfer delivered the pallets to the AAAs at a greatly discounted rate.
